Privacy Policy — WiFiFTP Pro

Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how WiFiFTP Pro ("the App") handles information when you use it to transfer files over a local Wi-Fi network. The App is designed to operate primarily between your device and other devices on your local network, and does not require an account to function.

Information We Access

To provide FTP/file-transfer functionality, the App may access files and folders you choose to share, your device's local network connection details (such as local IP address and Wi-Fi status), and storage needed to read and write files you transfer. The App does not access your contacts, camera, or microphone, and only accesses location as described below.

Permissions We Use

All-files storage access (Manage External Storage) — WiFiFTP Pro is a file server: to serve the folders you choose from your device to other devices on your network, it needs broad access to your device's file storage, not just individual files picked one at a time. Files are only served to devices you allow to connect.
Precise location — used only, and optionally, to display the real name (SSID) of the Wi-Fi network you're connected to, since Android requires this permission to read the network name. It is not used to track your location, and the App works without it.
Notifications and background service — WiFiFTP Pro runs a foreground service with a persistent notification so the FTP server keeps running and transfers don't stop when you switch to another app. This notification is required by Android for apps that run in the background.
Network access — used to run the local FTP server and to periodically check for app updates.

How We Use Information

Information accessed by the App is used solely to perform the file-transfer functionality you initiate, such as listing shared folders, sending files to another device, or receiving files from another device on the same network. The App does not use this information for advertising or profiling.

Data Sharing

The App does not sell, rent, or share your files or personal information with third parties. Files are transferred directly between devices on your local network and are not routed through or stored on external servers operated by us.

Data Storage and Security

Files remain on your device and the receiving device involved in a transfer. Please note that FTP transfers over Wi-Fi are typically unencrypted, so we recommend only using WiFiFTP Pro on Wi-Fi networks you trust (such as your home or office network), and avoiding open or public Wi-Fi for file transfers. No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by an updated "last updated" date in this document. Continued use of the App after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
